Day 1 – Arrival, Sunday - Hawke’s Bay

Arrive at Napier airport with private hire pick up to accommodation.
Note: it is very important to start your tour on the arrival date as planned.
Lunch served in your private accommodation retreat lodge overlooking the Tuki Tuki valley and the unsurpassable Craggy Range mountains, served at your leisure. Late afternoon drive about optional.
Dinner is by voucher to be enjoyed on your own at the famed Terroir restaurant at Craggy Range winery at the foot of the dramatic Te Mata Peak. Transportation provided.

Day 2 – Monday – Hawke’s Bay

Breakfast cooked in your private retreat by private hire chef, to be enjoyed overlooking the spectacular scenery and the Tuki Tuki River from your floor to ceiling glassed dining room. Professional sommelier joins our group for a day of outings at boutique and hard to find wineries. This evening enjoy a 6 course wine match degustation menu prepared in the privacy of your retreat by private hire chef. Local wine maker joins our group to discuss Hawke’s Bay terroir and local wine making techniques. River rock fire place lit in the cozy privacy of your lodge for the evening.

Day 3 – Tuesday – Hawke’s Bay/ Wellington

Breakfast prepared by private hire chef. Check out.
Sommelier joins our group for a morning of further wine exploration culminating at beloved local winery for an afternoon wild game lunch. After lunch, private hire coach takes our group through pristine farmland to the capital city of Wellington. Local Martinborough sommelier joins our group for a lite bistro faire dinner, giving us an introduction to the differences of New Zealand appellations.

Day 4 – Wednesday – Wellington/ Martinborough

Continental Breakfast. Free time to explore the city of Wellington. We suggest to visit the famed TePapa museum. Lunch on own. We visit Zealandia Wildlife Sanctuary where you will be able to see and visit 1000 years of New Zealand flora and fauna history. Private hire coach will take us to Mt. Victoria for some photo opportunities. Travel through the Rimutaka mountains. Late afternoon arrival at our four star accommodation nestled among the vineyards. A beloved local winery visit is planned with an exclusive local kiwi bar-b-q on the winery estate grounds. Winemaker joins our group to discuss Martinborough wine making techniques and to guide our group on a private tour of the vineyards and cellar.

Day 5 -  Thursday – Martinborough

The day starts with a gourmet wine country breakfast followed by a day of private touring with local sommelier. Five winery visits planned. Gourmet lunch at a favourite family run winery followed by private tour of the estate. This evening our group is charmed by a famed local chef as he demonstrates a 6-course degustation wine match menu exclusively for our group in his gourmet kitchen. Local wine maker joins in to offer further insights about the wines matched to the evening menu.

Day 6 – Friday – Martinborough/Marlborough

Early check-out after breakfast. Our group leaves by private hire coach to catch the Wellington/Picton ferry to Marlborough. Written as one of the most beautiful ferry rides in the world, our group will enjoy endless photo opportunities during the almost three-hour journey. Enjoy lunch on the ferry on own. Met upon arrival by private hire coach and driven to our vineyard accommodation in preparation for an afternoon of winery visits. Wine match dinner hosted in famed winery with local winemaker commentary.

Day 7 – Saturday – Marlborough

Continental Breakfast. Professional Sommelier joins our group for a full day of touring and tasting at exclusive hard to find wineries, five winery visits planned.
A spectacular 6 course wine match degustation menu designed exclusively for our group at a charming and beloved winery.

Day 8 – Sunday – Marlborough

Check out. Fabulous home cooked wine country brunch concludes our food and wine match tour. Attendees will begin their own independent travel. Further wine programs can be arranged on a private hire basis to other famed New Zealand appellations.
